DIY Laser Cutter

3D Printed Cryo PC

It was time for an upgrade of my personal PC, and I wanted something a bit crazy. The inspiration comes from sci-fi laboratory equipment and cryogenic chambers. Add some dystopia to the mix and you got the basis for this design. The case is entirely 3D printed, glued, sanded, and painted. To tie it all together, it also features a custom machined distribution plate.

While I still wouldn't call it done, I've been working on it for over two years now and have learned a ton. I started out with a manual BF30 milling machine, and then replaced the leadscrews with ballscrews, added an enclosure, and of course a bunch of electronics. To control everything I have a tablet that is running Mach4.

Some called it a comand room for a space ship, others just too much. This is my attempt at a PC desk and it came out absolutely huge. On the right is my main PC with water cooling and everything, while on the left is my home server running UnRaid. The center is a 40" 4K monitor from Phillips. I have to admit, it does kinda feel like a space ship.

Hi there, it's me, David. I'm a student on the path to an electrical engineering degree. In my free time, I like to build things. The nature of those things varies quite a bit but includes crazy custom computers, a CNC machine, laser cutter, and many more projects. I also share these endeavors on my YouTube channel, to hopefully inspire others to follow their dreams.
